Heat Meter means the equipment and related fittings and pipes installed by the Owner for the purpose of measuring the quantity of Heat used by the occupant at the Premises. The Heat meter package consist of a flow sensor, a pair of temperature sensors, and a calculator.
Heat Meter or Calculator Unit
A heat meter or flux calorimeter is a device which measures thermal energy provided by a source or delivered to a sink, by measuring the flow rate of the heat transfer fluid and the change in its temperature ( ΔT) between the outflow and return legs of the system.
Temperature Sensors
A temperature sensor is a device, typically, a thermocouple or resistance temperature detector, that provides temperature measurement in a readable form through an electrical signal. Simply put, the sensor is an instrument that measures the degree of hotness or coolness and converts it into a readable unit.
And for those in the know, a temperature sensor is a device, typically, a thermocouple or RTD, that provides for temperature measurement through an electrical signal. A thermocouple (T/C) is made from two dissimilar metals that generate electrical voltage in direct proportion to changes in temperature. An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a variable resistor that will change its electrical resistance in direct proportion to changes in temperature in a precise, repeatable and nearly linear manner.
Flow Sensor/Water Meter
Flow sensor is a water meter. A water meter is a device that measures how much water you use. This can be a cold water meter or a hot water meter. There are three main types of water meters— mechanical, electromagnetic, and ultrasonic. Each uses a different mechanism to determine the volume of water that your facility uses, but they all provide a reliable measurement. Meters measure the velocity of fluid moving through the measurement chamber.
Thermal Jacket
Protect your water meters during the cold winter months with the Meters UK Thermal Jacket. Hot water meters also require that heating is regulated and the thermal jackets can also keep temperatures constant especially if exposed to extreme temperatures.
