This is a small compact electric meter which is din rail mounted

The EM445 single phase meter is compact and easily installed. It is ideal for most domestic installations. (Landlord rentals, solar panels, studios and basic monitoring of energy). Only kWh energy used is displayed on the LCD.

The LED on the front of the meter flashes red when energy is being used. The faster the LED flashes the more energy is being used.

5 + 2 LCD display cannot be reset to zero and has a reading accuracy of 1/100 kWh.

The pulsed output connects onto two auxiliary terminals in the main terminal block and is polarity dependent, with a passive transistor output.

    Nice tidy meter and easy to wire in, although I had to contact technical support for clarification because the printed instructions and the wiring diagram on the device itself do not match. Tip: Follow the diagram in the sheet, not on the unit. Part of me wanted to try it both ways to test; the other part of me did not want to risk releasing the smoke-fairies. A quick call to tech support put me right.

    I bought the DIN enclosure, but didn’t need it as I had a spare way in my garage consumer unit. No matter as it will get used at some point soon.

    This meter has a soft green backlight which makes it very easy to read without needing a torch. Nice touch.

    The barn on the side of my house which contains my business office and workshop now has a way of recording electricity consumption, This will make sorting out business and household consumption a lot easier for me.

    It not only does what it says on the tin, but really looks the part in my installation. I just wish I had a couple of these ten years ago when I still had power-hungry teenagers in the house!
